Nipawin Great Northern Pike Festival

For 40 years, Nipawin's annual Great Northern Pike Festival has been attracting fishermen from across Canada and the USA to Tobin Lake in hopes of catching one of the 40 tagged northern pike with a total prize pool of over $110,500.

Prizes are determined through the catching and releasing of any of 40 pike tagged in 2009 in Tobin and Codette lakes:

36 are tagged with a $250 prize tag
one is tagged for a Honda CEU3000isCA Inverter Generator & 5 hp 4-stroke Outboard
one is tagged with a major prize tag of $5,000
the grand prize tag is for the grand prize of a 2009 Crestliner Kodiak 167 SC with Honda 40 H.P. 4-stroke Outboard, Depth Finder, Shore Land Trailer, and Minn Kota 55 PD Trolling Motor, a package valued at over $25,000
one guaranteed prize tag of a new 2009 Polaris Sportsman 400 HO 4 x 4 valued at over $7,000 - this tag prize will be awarded by draw if not caught during the tournament.

Other prizes include a Graphite Pike Replica, a $750.00 Pineland Co-op Voucher, a satellite Navigation System. The Pike Festival can be entered at any of our local sponsors for $5.00.

This year's festival runs from June 21st to September 30th, 2009.
