The Saskatchewan Premier's Walleye Cup, an international fishing tournament, was first held in August of 1988. This annual event hosts fishermen from Canada and the USA who compete for over $60,000.00 in prizes. The Premier's Cup is based out of the Nipawin and District Regional Park.

The Ladies' Fish for Freedom is one of North America's premier charity fishing derbies. Held annually on Tobin Lake, this tournament benefits local and women's health charities. This ladies-only tournament boasts a $2000 grand prize, and prizes for the top 30 of 100 teams.

In 1994 a new fishing tournament began on Tobin Lake. Teams pay a $1,000.00 entry fee for the two-day event with a pay off of over $100,000.00. The Vanity Cup was awarded 1996 Saskatchewan marketing event of the year. The Vanity Cup is hosted at both the Nipawin and District Regional Park and the Evergreen Center.
