Karen Grayson - Recording Secretary Serving as Secretary-Manager for the Nipawin & District Chamber of Commerce (1972-1988) provided the ideal opportunity for me to become active in economic development. Since that time, I have served as an Alderman for the Town of Nipawin for nine years (1988-1997) and been active on the Economic Development Committee from 1981 to present. Nipawin has always been an innovative community. Our tourism industry developed far ahead of others in Saskatchewan and still leads the way. Agricultural producers in the surrounding area continue to be willing to diversify, constantly finding new ways to improve their product. Because of our location, natural beauty and friendly citizens, we have attracted residents to our community for both business and retirement reasons. The community sees steady growth by those who take advantage of the amenities we have to offer. |
