Garth Hahn from Fort Qu’Appelle, SK and Glen Boehme, Regina, SK made their way through the crowd to receive $50,000 in cash as the 2009 Vanity Cup's Top Walleye Team. They weighed in 8 walleye totalling 57.55 lbs.

With historic costumes, music and fanfare, travellers will land on the shores of the river portion of Tobin Lake at the Nipawin & District Regional Park on Tuesday, May 27th at approximately 4:30 p.m.

04-19-08 - NIPAWIN MAYOR LIFTS STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY CAUSED BY EXPLOSION AS SERVICES ARE RESTORED FOR PARTS OF THE COMMUNITY
Pursuant to Section 23 of The Emergency Planning Act, 1989, Mayor Glen Day, at 2:20 p.m., declared that the Local Emergency as declared at 11:15 a.m. April 18, 2008 is terminated in the Town of Nipawin.

04-18-08 - MAYOR DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR DOWNTOWN AREA OF NIPAWIN
Mayor Glen Day, at 11:15 am, declared a state of emergency after a natural gas explosion and fire destroyed three downtown buildings and caused major damage throughout the business sector of Nipawin.

Nipawin Economic Development successfully negotiated an offer to purchase and put together the elements and partners necessary to create a new company. Torch River Rail Inc. is a new company with 46 shareholders chaired by Mr. Ron Shymanski of Choiceland.

01-17-08 - FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS TO INVEST IN UPGRADING NIPAWIN EVERGREEN CENTRE
A $250,000 investment from the Canada-Saskatchewan Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (will make the Nipawin Evergreen Centre significantly more energy efficient and reduce the Centre's heating and lighting expenses.
